Listbuilding For A Beginning Marketer

List building is a very tall order for a beginning marketer. Many new marketers don’t get to building their op-tin list until a year or two after they start dabbling online.

How can something so simple and so important get forgotten and unused?

Well, I think for one thing when a person is first starting out it might not be apparent of the importance of just how well list building will help your business. With there being so much to learn and so many different aspects to learning how to work online it’s could easily be shoved under the rug.

I know it was this way when I was first starting out to work online. I was trying to learn how to build websites, learning about SEO, writing articles and so on, and so forth. Of course, I would always here the phrase, “The Money Is In The List”, but with so much to learn and so much to do it was never really hit home until some time later.

Nowadays, as far as I’m concerned one shouldn’t do any types of promotion without having his list in mind. You could call it learning from mistakes, but what a big mistake it is to learn from.

Their are many different ways to build your list, and some of them are really quite simple. For instance, giveaway events are huge these days. It’s almost like a marketers candy land being able to download a ton of free gifts. But for the contributor of the gift, it is his heaven in building his list. Each time a gift is downloaded he receives another subscriber to his list.

At the moment there are a lot of giveaway events going on. The most recent giveaway event is The New Years Giveaway. This giveaway does have some very great gifts from marketers to download. It also has some very high level marketers involved. Because of this, the downloadable gifts are of very high quality.

Building a list can involve using such tactics as PPC, Social Networks, using Safelists, traffic exchanges, promoting with ezines, solo ads, ad swapping with other entrepreneurs in a similar niche, and the list could go on and on. Many of these types of practices may take some time to set up but as with all things, you get out of what you put into your efforts.

Viral marketing and list building these days is really taking off. Personally I have been involved in using an amazing program called MVS3. This program really is taking the internet by storm and it viral capabilities are seemingly endless. But of course, that is what viral marketing is all about.

So I hope this gives you some ideas on building your list. Though the methods haven’t been dealt with in detail, a simple easy way to get started is by participating in giveaway events.

If your looking for a way to start building your list, and haven’t had much experience yet with other methods then giveaway events are a good place to start.

Flying For a Regional Airline, Is It Worth It?

In the United States, and else where around the world, salary is usually dependent upon one major factor. That is, how many people can perform that particular job. The fewer the number of people that can perform a particular job, usually the greater the salary. In many cases, salary is not dependent upon how much money was used in order to obtain the skill.

A good example of this can be seen if we look at the salaries seen in professional sports. For example, in the NFL, professional football players can make millions of dollars per year, yet the preparation does not cost much money in relative terms. To play in the NFL really comes down to hard physical work, developing mental toughness, extreme dedication, and having the physical attributes and ability.

Not to many people can play in the NFL, and therefore most players enjoy a pretty good salary. The minimum salary of a rookie in the NFL is $285,000.00 per year. The highest salary for an NFL player in 2008 was seen in the form of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, of Pittsburgh at $27,701,920.00. It also should be stated that the average length of a career for an NFL player is only around 4 years.

Regional airline pilots on the other hand will spend anywhere from $50,000 and up in order to be properly trained to fly an airplane. This includes Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot License, plus specific training needed for the regional airline they wish to fly for. Military pilots on the other hand have their training paid for by the American tax payer, which really is the ideal situation for those who aspire to become a professional pilot.

Keeping with the analogy of the professional football player, we need to ask the question, how many people can fly an airplane? Statistically, not to many. But if trained, most people with a little better then average intelligence, can learn how to fly. It really comes down to having enough money to learn.

So becoming a professional football player, most would agree, is more difficult and fewer people in society are able to do this, and the professional football player salary reflects this. The salary of a professional football player should be substantially higher then that of a pilot, and it is. Most aspiring professional pilots understand this. The question really should be, is the very low salary of the regional airline pilot worth it to the aspiring pilot who wants to fly for the major airlines, where the higher salaries exist?

From a purely financial perspective, if you always wanted to be a pilot, and you have the money to train, then it probably is worth it. But there are other considerations which must be looked at if you desire to fly for a major airline some day.

It really comes down to being able to withstand the rigors of regional airline flying. To start, some regional airline pilots only make $16,000 a year. These are the new pilots, and they usually need to supplement their income with other work in order to make a living. Some regional airline pilots just starting out, can make $20,000 to $25,000. But no matter how you slice it, the regional airline pilot salary is low relative to other occupations which require a high level of responsibility.

There are other rigors which are not only pay related. In many cases, a regional airline pilot’s base airport is far away from where he or she lives, and they may need to commute across the country in order to get to their base airport for an assigned flight.

This long commute, coupled with the need in many cases to supplement their income with some other work, can result in fatigue, which can lower the level of safety needed. With these additional rigors, some may ask, is it really worth it to become a major airline pilot.

To answer this question you need to examine why you go into a particular career in the first place. Is it for the money, or is it because you love the work. While the rigors of regional airline flying may not be suitable for some people, many pilots stick out simply because they truly love to fly. They also stick it out because of the financial commitment they have made. If your desire to fly is enough such that you can withstand the period of regional airline flying, then it is probably worth it.

Remember that flying for a regional carrier is sort of like paying your dues. Many people ask, how can a regional pilot get paid less then a taxi driver in New York, which by the way gets paid on average $17.00 per hour. As a matter of fact, there are many jobs which provide a higher pay compared to the regional airline pilot. Lets look at another profession which has low pay to start, and in order to work in that profession, you need to pay a lot of money in order to be properly trained for the position.

A doctor spends a minimum of 11 years in education and training after the age of 18. Many are in training for 15 or more years. They are living on student loans and contributing zero to their family’s income until the residency years. During residency, they earn less than minimum wage, if you factor in the 80-100 hour work week. When a doctor emerges from training (and believe me, there is less sex and fun than is portrayed on ER or Gross Anatomy) he or she averages $160K in debt. Most doctors after residency make a good salary, with salary dependent on the specialty the doctor has chosen to work in.

So some might say, is it worth it to become a doctor. Doctors are also responsible for the lives of people, as are regional airline pilots. Most doctors go into the profession because they enjoy helping people, at least we hope that is the case. If not, there are other much more lucrative jobs in the financial sector, such as being a stock broker or money manager.

So what does all of this lead to. Is it worth the lower pay, sleeping in crash pads during over night stays, possible fatigue, and long commutes, in order to fly as a regional airline pilot. If it is a stepping stone to something bigger and better, such as flying for the major airlines, then most pilots believe that it is worth it. If it appears as if you will not be able to move onward and upward, then most pilots will strongly consider some other form of flying, or leave it all together. These are the considerations an aspiring professional pilot must look at before a financial commitment to training.

You should go into a career because you enjoy the work. If you enjoy the work, the pay will follow. In the case of becoming a major airline pilot, if you are willing to endure the hardships of regional airline flying, you love to fly, and there is absolutely nothing else in the world that you would rather do, then the professional airline pilot as a career is something to consider.

Old Time Banana Cake

As a child this was and still is my favorite cake, it is a really moist and tasty cake as well, ok lets get started, I assume that everyone knows that all ingredients should be at room temperature.

?pound butter
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
?cup mashed ripe bananas
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour

Cream your butter and sugar together then add your bananas and mix until smooth add your eggs one at a time now add your sour cream, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla, and flour, mix on low speed for 1 minute and then on 2nd speed for about 2 minutes or until smooth.
Place your cake mix in a well greased and floured 10 inch x 3 inch tube pan and let bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 25 to 35 minutes, test cake by inserting a pick in the center and if it comes out clean then it is done.

Icing on the cake:

4 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
add the flour to the cold milk and stir with a wire whisk and then cook it on the stove until it is thick, remove from stove without burning it and let it cool.

In a mixing bowl add ?cup butter, ?cup shortening, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, mix all for 1 minute then add the mixture that you cooked and whip for 2 or 3 minutes or until it is as fluffy as you desire using a paddle on your mixer and not the whip.

Why The XC90 IS A Top Safety Pick

The Volvo XC90 is a trailblazer in its segment. The midsize luxury crossover SUV has received its fair share of accolades and awards. But the most notable, of course, is the fact that it is a Top Safety Pick of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This, of course comes, as no surprise since Volvo is known for producing safe cars in its 80 long years in business. The Top Safety Pick is given by the IIHS to vehicles which can adequately protect its occupants in the unfortunate case of front, rear, or side collisions. The vehicles undergo crash protection tests and this is where the institute determines whether a certain vehicle is crash worthy and would be given the Top Safety Pick.“Our crash tests cover the most common kinds of real-world collisions,” said IIHS president Adrian Lund. “Designating Top Safety Pick winners based on the tests makes it easier for consumers to identify vehicles that afford the best overall protection without sifting through multiple sets of comparative test results,” he added. For a vehicle to be given the Top Safety Pick award, it should post “good” ratings for front, rear, and side crash protection tests. Aside from having “good” ratings on the three crash tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also requires an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) program to be part of the vehicle’s features. Without that feature, a vehicle will not be qualified to be given a Top Safety Pick award. The requirement for an ESC program is due to the fact that the institute has found out that the ESC significantly reduces the risk of severe to fatal injuries in cases of crashes. An ESC is a generic name for systems which are designed to improve the handling of a vehicle. This system is designed to take control of a vehicle if the driver is in danger of loosing control of the vehicle. “Integrated safety technology has set the XC90 apart since its introduction, and it’s part of Volvo DNA to focus of real-world safety,” said Anne Bélec, the president and Chief Executive Officer of Volvo Cars of North America. “An award like this validates Volvo’s commitment, and explains why customers have made the XC90 the best-selling European SUV in the United States.”Other features which makes the Volvo XC90 as reliable as Volvo 850 parts include the Active Bi-Xenon Lights that it is equipped with. According to Volvo, the headlights automatically adjust the lights depending on the position of the steering wheel. This feature comes in handy when maneuvering around bends at night. Another safety feature of the Volvo XC90 is its frontal structure. Aside from protecting the occupants of the vehicle, the frontal structure is also designed to protect the occupants of a vehicle which it might hit head on. The low cross member in the front of the XC90 is designed to activate the crumple zones of other vehicles it might hit head on. The hood on the other hand is designed to crumple if the vehicle hits a pedestrian. With good safety ratings for front rear and side collision and the presence of the Bi-xenon lights makes the XC90 a good choice. The fact that it has all the safety systems to protect its passengers from severe injuries on crashes and its adequate interior space makes it a strong contender in its segment. Once again, Volvo proved to the world that they are building safe vehicles for their customers.

The New McCarthyism

By Joe Conason

The national madness known as McCarthyism began 60 years ago in Wheeling, W.Va., when Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy held up a scrap of paper that supposedly listed the names of 57 State Department officials he said were actually Communists and traitors.

Eventually, America learned that the Wisconsin Republican’s famous list was a fabrication, that he was a liar and a demagogue as well as an alcoholic—and that his authoritarian appeals to fear were worse than useless in defending our security. But by then, McCarthyism’s self-serving and fundamentally unpatriotic promoters had inflicted grave damage on the body politic and international prestige of the United States.

Today, McCarthy’s heirs are slicker and glibber than he ever was, yet their fundamental methods are the same. When Elizabeth Cheney, William Kristol and their media friends slander Justice Department attorneys as the “al-Qaida 7” and malign the “Department of Jihad,” they are engaging in the smear tactics that became synonymous with McCarthy.

What is different now is the cynical hypocrisy of the new McCarthyites, who know that the flimsy accusations they level against Democrats in the Obama administration could just as easily be turned on Republicans who served President George W. Bush.

Cheney and Kristol have charged that certain lawyers in the Justice Department represented alleged terrorists held at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp—and that by so doing, those attorneys rendered themselves unfit for government service. “Whose values do they share?” asks an ominous advertisement aired by their front group, known as Keep America Safe. They mean to insinuate that the values of those Justice Department attorneys, President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder are somehow closer to the jihadism of al-Qaida than to those shared by most Americans.

Save A Fortune On Your Next Used Vehicle

If you’ve ever wondered how you could save a lot of money purchasing your next automobile, you should definitely read this article.

Thousands of cars are seized every month by government law enforcement agencies, finance houses and other loan companies in foreclosure actions. These vehicles are too costly to store and so they are sent to be auctioned. Some of these vehicle can be picked up at low cost from government car auctions.

The purpose of seizing vehicles is to raise cash quickly for the various agencies, so they are quickly auctioned to raise funds. There is no point in these vehicles sitting in storage for prolonged periods, as this would cost more money, and the car be worth less as time passes. The objective is to sell the car at auction as quickly as possible to retrieve some return of the money from them.

The good news for you is that these auctions are available to the public, so anyone can bid on and secure a car fur much less than its true. The starting price has known to be as low as $100 at these car auctions. But not everyone is aware that these car auctions even exist, and only those biders in the know were locking on to these bargains for themselves.

Government car auctions don’t advetise extensively, so it can be difficult to find out when and where they are running. Small ads for these car auctions will someimes appear in the local press, but you would need to keep a close watch on the press every day or you might miss them. It is because there is sparse advertising of these government auctions that you can save a lot off the normal price of a car. There can also be other assets auctioned at the same time, including seized homes and property, so it can prove useful to know when these auctions are taking place.
